Hi Friends!
I am so glad you are back for another Happy Heart Project post. Today I am talking about a cause that is so special to my heart, Children’s Miracle Network. Today marks the start of Children’s Hospitals Week! Each year, more than 10 million kids enter a children’s hospital. Children’s Miracle Network’s mission is to increase funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since 1983, CMN has provided more than $7 billion to fill in the gaps of funding in these hospitals.
I first became involved with Children’s Miracle Network when I was just 13 years old. It was my first year to compete in the Miss America’s Outstanding teen program, and I was invited to visit patients at a CMN hospital in Houston. All I can remember was the feeling I had as I walked out of that hospital. How lucky was I to have my health and well-being when kids MY age were undergoing treatment for numerous different reasons. Ever since that appearance, I was hooked. Hooked on the Miss America Organization and serving Children’s Miracle Network. Since then, I have had the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars for CMN, visit countless hospitals, participate in an event where patients received their own Sherri Hill dress and walked the red carpet, and help my sister, Madison, through her Sock It to Cancer campaign. Needless to say, Children’s Miracle Network has my heart and I believe wholeheartedly in their mission.

Every minute, 62 children enter a CMN hospital. That means that fundraising efforts for CMN are extremely important. Did you know that every time you donate to Children’s Miracle Network, your donation stays local? That means that every time you donate, you are making a difference and potentially saving lives for children in your own community. Below are some ways that you can get involved with children’s miracle network and make a difference today!
Donate
Donating to CMN is an easy, yet effective way to make a difference. You can donate online through this link. Miss America is a long-time partner of Children’s Miracle Network, and each contestant plays a part in raising money for CMN. If you would like to support my fundraising efforts, you can donate through this link!
Share
If contributing financially is not a possibility for you, you can contribute to CMN by raising awareness on social media! A super simple way to do this is to participate in Children’s Hospitals Week activities. One activity is the Wear, Share, Be a change maker activity. You wear a bandage on your hand, take a photo, and share it on social media! You can even make a difference and bring awareness by simply following cmnhospitals on Instagram and other social media platforms.
Participate
Finally, you can make a difference for CMN hospitals by participating in fundraising events. Each year, partners of CMN host different events in order to raise money. Some of the most famous events include Miracle Treat Day at dairy queen, where you can literally make a difference by eating ice cream, and IHOP national pancake day! Another way to get involved is by participating in a miracle network dance marathon. “Miracle Network Dance Marathon is a movement uniting college, university and high school students across North America.” Each year Aggie Miracle puts on an incredible event and raises so much money #forthekids !!
These are just a few of the ways that you can get involved with Children’s Miracle Network. For more information, please visit their social media pages and website!
